Xavier had a wonderful third birthday back in June. We were able to celebrate on the actual day (the 13th), since it was a Saturday this year.
We started the day with giving Xavier our birthday gift to him:
We decided on the sandbox because he was using his new diggers (see previous post) to dig in this little patch of dirt right next to our trashcan, which really wasn't a good idea. It wasn't long before the diggers made their way to the sandbox as well.
In the afternoon we had a small birthday party cookout. We kept it simple. The kids played in the sandbox, we grilled, then we ate cake. The best part of this video is Sebastian, one of Xavier's friends, saying, "Happy Birthday to Xavier." It's really cute.
The party wrapped up by 3 and so we had a nice quiet post-party time together. Xavier opened his gifts from the family. Here are a few photos.
Overall, quite a lovely day for everyone, especially Xavier.
