Water fight with Grandmom!
7/2 We went into Philadelphia to visit the Franklin Institute. We saw the train factory and space exhibits, then left for lunch at Irish pub, walking past the Cathedral of Sts. Peter and Paul. Then we went back to Franklin Institute for the heart and electricity exhibits, and wrapped up eating ice cream on steps outside.
I had to include this photo because of Monica's expression!
7/3 We headed out to the Field of Dreams wooden playground with Aunt Erica and cousin Malcolm and Grandmom in morning. Then more fun in the pool and slip and slide in the afternoon with Malcolm. Hoagies for dinner!
7/4 Happy Fourth of July! We drove to watch the parade in Pitman, made stars on the ground, and Grandmom made us a feast for dinner - fried chicken, tomatoes, corn on the cob and strawberry cake for dessert. In the evening, fun with sparklers.
Helping peel the corn for dinner:
Enjoying the cocktail hour (every afternoon we enjoyed a cocktail hour - the retired life!)
Xavier and Mara used their money to buy these blimps at the parade
7/5 Our last day in New Jersey was a Sunday, so we went to Mass and Malcolm came over later for some more cousin time. Monica made a card for him. Xavier played with the old Erector set and then everyone had more fun in the pool. In the evening, we watched the Lawrence Welk show and then Duck Soup - Xavier stayed up for the whole movie.
